Professional software testing firm uTest has today launched a new service aimed at early-stage startups: uTest Express. With this low-cost offering, the company is providing access its community of over 35,000 professional testers who will provide expert feedback about your mobile app. All the testing is done on real wireless devices - not with emulators, simulators or via remote access, the company says. And the testing is performed across all major mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian.
At the end of the testing period, the testers will provide your startup with documented bugs, plus screenshots and videos showing how to reproduce the problems they encountered. The testers will also provide feedback about the mobile app's design, usability and performance.
There are three different uTest Express packages available, starting at $499. The Bronze and Silver packages include testers from North America only, while the Gold package lets you choose which geographic region, carriers and devices should be used in testing.
Startups can also use uTest's native iPhone/iPad application or the browser-based interface for access to their testing projects from their mobile devices.
uTest lists among its customers companies like Microsoft, AOL, Intuit and Groupon, but has not offered an affordable service targeted towards smaller startups until now. The Express program is available starting today to startups worldwide. Sign up is here:http://express.utest.com.
